Slovakian Petra Vlhova doubled the lead by winning her second World Cup slalom in two days on Sunday in Levi (Finland), while American and favorite Mikaela Shiffrin finished only in 5th place. After the first round, Petra Vlhova and the Swiss Michelle Gisin were tied. But the Slovak was finally able to gain the upper hand over the Swiss (2nd to 31 hundredths of a second) to win a 5th slalom in a row. It was the Austrian Katharina Liensberger who nevertheless had the best time on the 2nd track to take 3rd place (50 hundredths). Back after almost 10 months without competition, Mikaela Shiffrin, triple winner of the big crystal globe and 2nd on Saturday, must therefore be content with 5th place at 93 hundredths. This is the first time since January 2018 that she has missed the podium in a World Cup slalom. E. S.
