Alpine skiing double Olympic winner Mikaela Shiffrin, 26, said on social media accounts on Monday that they gave a positive coronavirus sample.
Due to isolation, Shiffrin from the United States will miss at least the World Cup competitions in Lienz, Austria. Lienz is scheduled to compete in slalom on Tuesday and slalom on Wednesday.
Shiffrin celebrated the 2014 slalom Olympic gold in Sochi and the gold slalom gold four years later in Pyeongchang. In addition, she has won, among other things, six world championships and the overall World Cup women’s competition three times.
Shiffrin will lead the overall World Cup and Grand Slam Cup this season.
