The R variant of the A110 is undoubtedly the most extreme declination of the concept of sportiness according to Alpine, but for those who are not satisfied, the French car manufacturer has thought of an even more captivating version of its top of the range. This is a special series limited to 32 pieces of the A110 R called Fernando Alonso: the Spanish driver and Formula One world champion collaborated and approved the construction of this special edition of the French sports car, as you can imagine well before having announced his divorce with the F1 team for which he is currently working on the track.
Clearly, there are some details that differentiate this special series of the A110 R from the standard version of the model. Inside the passenger compartment the orange details on the steering wheel and door straps, abundant use of black microfiber and Fernando Alonso’s signature embroidered on the seats, as well as a blue, orange and yellow flag placed on the door panels. On the central console, moreover, there is a tribute plate, which shows the number both the year and the circuit of one of his 32 career victories by Fernando Alonso. As for the exterior, however, Alpine opted for a darker shade for the rear of the car with an Alpine Racing graphic design, while the brake calipers were embellished with orange and the spoiler supports in black.
From a technical and mechanical point of view, the special edition dedicated to Fernando Alonso is 5% stiffer, a set-up that was approved by the Spaniard himself on his home circuit in Barcelona. On the other hand, there are no changes to the powertrain: to push this limited series of the A110 R there is always a 1.8-liter 300 hp engine, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 4 seconds flat. Prices for the A110 R Fernando Alonso have not yet been announced.
