L’AlphaTauri it was one of the great positive revelations of the 2021 season. The Faenza team finished the constructors’ championship in sixth place, thus managing to improve the placement of the first 12 months, when it had finished seventh just a short distance from Ferrari. Last championship could even have been better for Red Bull’s ‘little sister’ if only young rookie Yuki Tsunoda could deliver similar performance to Red Bull’s. Pierre Gasly, now an authentic star of the Italian team. Over the last few years, the small work group headed by Franz Tost has made enormous strides, managing to free itself at least in part from the shadow cast by Milton Keynes’s cluttered neighbors.
It is clear that, being the quintessential example of ‘team B’, it is difficult to imagine one day the former Toro Rosso fighting for the world title. In recent seasons, however, the team has stopped fighting only at the bottom of the grid, taking away various satisfactions and reaching three podiums in three consecutive years with Pierre Gasly. This new team identity has also increased the focus on deeply Italian roots of the team, which at times was also able to take away the satisfaction of winning a few ‘derbies’ with Ferrari. To further reaffirm the pride of being also a representative of Italy in the world, the team from Faenza wanted to reveal in advance a curious detail of the AT03the car with which it will compete in the 2022 season.

In a photo published on the team’s official Twitter profile, in fact, you can see what appear to be the side appendages of the car colored with the green-white-red tricolor. A nice reference to the Italian flag that was not present in the color used by the team during the last few seasons. A nice gift also for all the Italians who work in the team and who two years ago were able to celebrate at home the incredible success achieved by Pierre Gasly in the setting of Monza. The complete presentation of the car – or at least the livery, given the previous Red Bull – is scheduled for Monday 14 February.
