Imola and Monaco: two GPs outside the top-10
The Canadian Grand Prix comes at a not particularly good time for Fernando Alonso, out of the points in the last two races. Even 19th in Imola, the Spaniard did not go beyond 11th place in the last test in Monte Carlo, with the two-time world champion hoping to be able to take advantage of the opportunities that arise in Montreal this weekend.
The weather may help
One above all, the weather conditions adverse events expected from Friday to Sunday: “We hope it can go better – he declared referring to the Canadian weekend – the characteristics of the track are very different from those of Monaco, and therefore the weather can also vary we will try to capitalize in this respect“.
On the eve of this GP, the most discussed topic inevitably focused on the presentation of technical regulations which will come into force from 2026even if, at the time of the interview for the official channels of Formula 1, Alonso did not say too much: “I haven’t seen all the 2026 regulations yet, just a picture seven minutes ago, so I can’t comment much – has explained – but fortunately we have a close competition, and that’s what we want as drivers. There are opportunities for everyone, therefore we’ll see how it will be in 2026″.
