The Spaniard also criticized the commissioners for not intervening in the fight between Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez: “At Silverstone I felt more competitive than any other race, especially during qualifying, where we had already had positive feedback on the race pace. Over the course of the GP, and with the management of the tires, I noticed that Leclerc and Perez were still faster than me, but not as fast as in other races. In all honesty, I saw the race only later, on Monday, and I saw all the battle that took place between Leclerc and Perez. It was fantastic to see her on TV and to witness that challenge firsthand. “I am enjoying racing in F1 after my return. Obviously I miss winning and fighting for the podium, but I enjoy the challenge against myself, which allows me to express myself at my best. Compared to the last time in F1 it is not the same level of competitiveness: in 2018 I didn’t feel 100%, but now I do. Now I feel in a position to be able to express myself to the fullest, or in any case in a way that no one would expect.
