Fernando Alonso and Alpine F1 have agreed on a contract extension for the Spaniard. Given that teammate Ocon will also remain in his seat, the French F1 stable can continue to build next year on the basis that it laid down this season.
They’re in a good fow over there at Alpine. In Hungary, Esteban Ocon was still on the top scaffold – with Alonso just off the podium. With the steady advance that the F1 stable had been working on for a while, no more than a logical cashing in on the solid results of the last matches.
Since it is better not to change a winning team, a lot of effort was made to keep the team together. Which now, with the definitive signature of Fernando Alonso, has also been successful.
With the regulation change that will be implemented from next season, Alpine hopes to have the right irons – read: youthful swagger in addition to packs of experience – in the fire to really fight for the title.
