The Department of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries has, so far, withdrawn more than 2,950 dead animals on livestock farms in the areas affected by DANA to avoid risks to public health, as reported by the department in a statement.
Since last Wednesday, October 30, they have been carried out through the company Tragsa, contracted by the Department of Agriculture, and the public company Vaersa, nearly 1,000 calls to all livestock farms of the regions of L’Horta Sud, La Ribera Alta, La Ribera Baixa, Hoya de Buñol and Requena-Utiel to know their needs.
Based on the information collected, Agriculture has removed the dead animals from 17 pig, sheep, horse and poultry farms. Notices regarding the collection of animal carcasses on public roads have also been addressed.
Likewise, thanks to this commission from the Consell, it is guaranteed supply of feed, forage and water for those farms that are experiencing access problems, thanks to the conditioning of the roads that have been affected.
