Hildesheim / Gießen – Investigators in Lower Saxony and Hesse have confiscated numerous pieces of evidence in connection with allegedly forged vaccination passports.
Accordingly, a total of 24 residential and commercial properties were searched in the morning – around 300 police officers were in action, as the Hildesheim public prosecutor announced on Wednesday.
Among other things, numerous allegedly ordered and forged vaccination passports, stamps and data carriers were confiscated. According to the information, the searches were carried out mainly in Lower Saxony, including in the Hildesheim, Göttingen and Hanover areas. In Hesse, according to a spokeswoman, an object near Gießen was searched.
The investigators also found weapons, drugs and high-quality branded watches. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the evaluation of the confiscated items and the further investigations are ongoing. The investigations are directed against five main suspects from the Hildesheim area in Lower Saxony between the ages of 21 and 29 who are said to have produced and sold false vaccination records. The counterfeits are said to have been sold primarily via social media.
“The trade in forged vaccination cards is flourishing. That is not only shabby and criminal, but also really dangerous, “said Lower Saxony’s Justice Minister Barbara Havliza (CDU) according to the announcement. Vaccinations are the best protection against the corona virus. “Anyone who pretends to be vaccinated is endangering the health of their fellow human beings. Making a business out of it is really the very last thing. ”Dpa
