Algeria | At least 27 people have died in recent road accidents in Algeria

Traffic accidents are common in Algeria in North Africa.

In Algeria there were two catastrophic traffic accidents last night. In total, at least 27 people died in them, according to the news agency AFP.

In another night of accidents, a bus and a freight car collided on a road connecting the city of Constantine to the Mediterranean port of Jijel.

According to the Algerian state news agency APS, 18 people were killed and 11 injured in the accident. Six of the dead were children.

Second the accident occurred near the Mali border in Bordj Badji Mokhtar in the Sahara Tanezrouft desert. Nine people died in the accident. El Hayet TV reported that visibility was poor at the time of the accident, AFP reported.

According to the news agency, traffic accidents are common in Algeria. Often the cause is speeding.
