First official public appearance for Alfa Romeo Junior, now known by everyone as the former Alfa Romeo Milano. The new B-segment SUV from the Biscione car manufacturer was the protagonist of its debut yesterday evening Milan Design Week: an example of the model was exhibited at the boutique LARUSMIANIa historic Milanese fashion brand with which the Arese brand has decided to enter into a new collaboration agreement.
Agreement between Alfa Romeo and LARUSMIANI
“The Fuorisalone is one of the liveliest moments of the year because Milan is a city that loves art, design and beauty. Elegance, passion, craftsmanship have always been in Larusmiani's DNA – declared Guglielmo Miani, President of Larusmiani – For years these values, thanks to my passion for carsmarry with automotive culture: we were the first to make some of the most beautiful cars in the world the absolute protagonists of our showcase. It's a pleasure and an honor for this Fuorisalone 2024 to host the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, a jewel of Made in Italy, in our spaces in via Verri. The more the various sectors of Italian excellence talk to each other and collaborate, the more it will be possible to grow the authority of our country at an international level”.
From Milan to Junior
Not an easy moment for Alfa Romeo, which five days after the debut of the new Milano decided to change the name of the model, which has become Junior. A sort of response to the Minister of Business and Made in Italy Adolfo Ursuswho a few days earlier had attacked the Biscione brand and more generally the Stellantis group, accusing it of having inappropriately chosen (and violating the law) the name Milano for its new sports compact produced outside national borders.
Learned's reaction
“We are perfectly aware that this episode will remain engraved in the history of the Brand. It's a great responsibility but at the same time it's an exciting moment – the reaction of Jean-Philippeprendito, CEO of Alfa Romeo – The choice of the new name Junior is completely natural, being strongly linked to the history of the brand and having been among our favorites and among the public's favorites from the beginning. As a team we choose once again to make our passion available to the Brand, to give priority to the product and customers. We decide to change, even though we know that we are not obliged to do so, because we want to preserve the positive emotions that our products have always generated and avoid any type of controversy. The attention paid in recent days to our new sports compact is something unique, with an unprecedented number of accesses to the online configurator, which caused the website to crash for a few hours.”
