The last few months have not been easy for the team Alfa Romeo. The team from Hinwil at the turn of the summer break had to undergo a very heavy overtaking in the constructors’ classification by Williams, in a duel certainly less glamorous than that between Mercedes and Red Bull but equally fundamental, especially at an economic level, to define the future of two teams. Then there was the heated discussion with the Andretti group for the possible transfer of ownership of the team, which faded into a soap bubble. Finally came the non-confirmation of Antonio Giovinazzi for the 2022 championship, with the announcement of the entry – alongside the Finnish Valtteri Bottas – of the Chinese Guanyu Zhou.
This triptych of events has certainly contributed to undermining the serenity of the Biscione team, which is experiencing one of the most difficult years in its history overall, also due to the many errors on the track by the team. To try to recover at least in part the stability that has seemed to vanish in recent weeks, today the Swiss team announced the extension of its partnership with sponsor Orlen. The Polish oil company first appeared on the sides of the Hinwil single-seaters in 2020, with Robert Kubica joining the team as the third driver.

“Alfa Romeo Racing will give continuity to one of the most distinctive ties in the world of Formula 1 by extending its partnership with the Polish giant PKN ORLEN, together with Alfa Romeo, for a third consecutive season “, reads the press release released by the team on Twitter. Kubica himself – the only driver confirmed for next season, given the change of the two owners – was used by the Polish brand to announce the agreement on its social channels.
