The entry into the Stellantis group and the announcement of the transition to total electrification made many enthusiasts and customers tremble Alfa Romeo, linked to the Italian brand for the emotions and driving dynamics offered by its cars. In fact, the concern is that with the transition to sustainable mobility, those characteristics that have made Alfa Romeo cars famous will be completely lost. However, the car manufacturer from Arese would be ready to take driving involvement to another level taking advantage of the synergies and technologies offered by Stellantis, in particular thanks to the software.
Artificial intelligence e connectivity they would be the cornerstones on which the new Alfa Romeos will rest to offer driving dynamics and support for drivers that can give them what they have always been looking for in a Alfa Romeo car, both on the road and on the track. To confirm the work in this direction was Jean-Philippe Learned who during an interview given to the French magazine Automobile Propre: “We are working a lot on what artificial intelligence or 5G is and what they can bring to the driving experience. Our Alfa Romeos won’t have an interface that gives you the weather in three weeks. Our customers don’t care. Instead, we will use all that the software gives us in terms of technical data, to select those that affect the driver’s driving efficiency. For example, we can indicate the ideal line for the next turn on the road as well as on the track. We can inform the driver about his state of health when he gets behind the wheel, to help him feel more comfortable driving ”.
The next model of the Alfa Romeo, the B-segment compact SUV will be built in Poland, in Tychy, alongside the Jeep Avenger and the future Fiat-branded crossover. Learned though assured that the technical development of future Alfa Romeos will always remain Italianas it happened for the cars of the past: “Alfa Romeo has been driver-centric for 112 years. That doesn’t have to change, but the brand has to evolve with the times. The engines and the chassis will still be developed by the guys from Balocco, who developed the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm.”
