The debut of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale certainly did not go quietly, with the new limited-edition Alfa Romeo supercar immediately dividing enthusiasts and insiders, at the same time bringing a very high-performance car back on the road with the Arese brand on the snout. However, beyond the performance, evident for both the petrol and fully electric versions, and the exterior design, one of the most fascinating elements is undoubtedly the construction of the interior of the new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, with the link with the aeronautical world clearly evident in the instrumentation.
Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale like a jet
Entering the new 33 Stradale in fact, one is struck by the mix of analogue and digital, with the central tunnel and roof of the car featuring a series of levers and controls similar to those one might find on an airplane or better on a jet given the type of car in question. Inspiration from the world of aviation was chosen by Alfa Romeo to make the driving experience and use of the essential controls even more engaging, in particular the choice of driving modes, Launch Control and certain chassis set-ups . All finished in the right mix of steel and carbon fiber that emphasize that vintage taste but at the same time also the modernity of the environment.
Aviation-style controls
On the ceiling of the car, between the two glass elements of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, we find other physical controls with another clear reference to the world of aviation. Like on a jet, even on the Alfa supercar there is a console from which certain functions of the car can be adjusted, such as the opening of the windows, the ambient lights or the activation of the four indicators.
No frills steering wheel
The steering wheel is essential, freed from the now usual spoke controls in order to be able to fully enjoy the driving experience with the spokes which can be in aluminum on the Tributo version or in carbon fiber on the Alfa Corse version. Behind the steering wheel then the display stands out with the classic telescope configuration, with all the gear information and a layout that changes according to the drive mode selected (Road or Track). Alfa Romeo’s decision to recall the world of aviation is not accidental: in 1925 the Arese brand had started the production of piston engines for aircraft, with the first propeller designed in-house in 1930.
