Ahmed Atef (Cairo)
The streets of Alexandria (northern Egypt) appeared filled with water during the past two days, after the coastal governorate overlooking the Mediterranean was exposed to the “nucleus of the broom” (and the nuclei are winds coming from the sea mostly to the land, and sometimes they bring heavy rain, and others come Hot winds in summer affect daily life).
The nucleus caused the flooding of many streets there, which led to the accumulation of water under the bridges and along the Corniche, and the sinking of many cars and buses of mass transit in the governorate, and some shops were also flooded, while the rescue crews prepared and drew water to deal with the situation.
In addition, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority always warns that Alexandria Governorate will be exposed to 18 nuclei throughout the winter season, which begins with the broom’s birth (it lasts 4 days and begins at the end of November) and ends with the anointing of al-Awa.
As for the most prominent nuclei, it is the “broom”, “Qasim” nucleus, which begins in December and is the most dangerous in every winter, then the nucleus of the New Year and the nucleus of the Great Flood, followed by the nucleus of weather spaces and the nucleus of generosity, as well as the nucleus of discounts, and then the nucleus of the great sun.
