Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe wins the classic for the third time in the emblematic climb of the Muro de Huy, in Belgium
Alejandro Valverde again achieved a very meritorious result this Wednesday in one of his favorite classics, the Flecha Walloon. The Murcian, who holds the record for victories in this event with five wins, finished third in this year’s edition. Next Sunday he will be 41 years old, but Valverde is still determined to show that he can still compete with the best.
The world champion, the French Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck), took the Walloon Arrow this Wednesday in the emblematic climb of the Wall of Huy, in Belgium. After a race of 193 kilometers, the Slovenian Primoz Roglic finished second. With this victory, the third that he adds to his record, he equals Eddy Merckx, Marcel Kint, Moreno Argentin and Davide Rebellin. All of them are still behind Alejandro Valverde, who continues to be the greatest legend of this classic.
