Alejandro Gómez Sánchez will submit his resignation to the Attorney General of the State of Mexico before the 61st local Legislature, after almost eight years at the head of the institution.
This Wednesday, in a message to the media, the official recalled that he arrived at the institution in May 2014, when he was still the Attorney General’s Office, and that he concludes with the “greatest honor and challenge” of his professional life.
He said that one of the objectives entrusted to him was the transition from the Attorney General’s Office, a dependency of the Mexican government, to the Attorney General’s Office as an autonomous body.
Gómez Sánchez referred that in the eight years in which he has been in charge of the institution of justice, positive results have been obtained and the criminal incidence was contained in several crimes and in others it was reduced.
“I grew up and learned from this wonderful experience, as a human being I saw the pain of the victims up close and I knew many unspeakable crimes, for this reason I put all my effort into fully fulfilling the function of seeking justice and putting the files and the accused before the organs jurisdictional, so that they could be judged based on due process and respect for their fundamental rights,” he stated.
The prosecutor pointed out that the law enforcement function is highly complex and requires absolute dedication, and naturally the position entails personal, physical and emotional wear, as well as professional wear.

“That is why, based on a personal reflection, with my family and collaborators, I am certain that it is time to close this cycle after almost eight years at the helm,” said Gómez Sánchez, until today prosecutor of the State of Mexico.

The Mexican prosecutor recognized the support of the Legislative and Executive powers in the entity, especially thanked the governor Alfredo del Mazofor your personal support.
“I am leaving this position after eight years because I am certain that it is time to renew the ownership of the institution and the continuity of the projects under a new direction,” he mentioned.
“The person who is appointed through a process that involves the collaboration of powers will find a strong institution with solid foundations to face the multiple challenges that may arise in the future. Honor, Loyalty and Value.”
