Fabio Quartararo, Francesco Bagnaia and Joan Mir: this was the final podium of the riders’ standings of the 2021 championship in the MotoGP class. Therefore, you represent three different manufacturers, namely Yamaha, Ducati and Suzuki, in this order also in the Constructors’ classification. Thanks to Marc Marquez, Honda won three races against Suzuki’s zero, but the Borgo Panigale manufacturer has collected the most stage wins, seven thanks to Francesco Bagnaia (four), Jack Miller (two) and the rookie of the Jorge Martin year (one). There Ducati preceded Yamaha’s six victories (one by Maverick Vinales at his seasonal debut and five by champion Fabio Quartararo) and in Valencia he finished the championship by colonizing the podium on a track historically unfriendly to the Desmosedici.
This is an aspect that has not escaped Aleix Espargarò who underlined how in this historical moment Ducati is the best bike of the starting grid by posting: “I don’t know why Ducati isn’t first, second and third in the championship – declared the Aprilia rider already at the end of Q2 on Saturday, in front of an all-Ducati front row with Martin ahead of Bagnaia and Miller – It is very difficult for all of us to fight against the Ducatis. Before it was a bike that had a lot of power on the straights, now it has combined grip, stability and speed when cornering. However, this is MotoGP, we have to fight against the best manufacturers in the world and it will be the same next year ”.
