The hiring of Roman Albesian as Honda’s new technical director for the 2025 season represents one of the most interesting market developments to follow for the next season. HRC’s hope with this important coup is to allow Albesiano to replicate what was done with the Noale housewhich has been ‘resurrected’ from the back of the grid to become a contender for podium places and victories.
Luca Marini and Joan Mir they clearly underlined their satisfaction with the arrival of the now outgoing Aprilia director, but also at a managerial level there is enthusiasm for the advent of Albesiano. Interviewed by Sky Sports MotoGP Alberto Puigcommented on the new entry, which should become operational as early as the end-of-season tests in Valencia.
“Albesiano in Honda? We are very happy with this engagement – explained Puig – pwe think that Romano has a philosophy that can marry well with ours and with that of the Japanese. We had been trying to find some collaboration with European engineers for some time and in the end we did it with him. We believe that his experience is great and could be interesting for us. Also have an all-European test team? We already have it: next year we will have perhaps three riders: Aleix Espargarò, Taka Nakagami and Stefan Bradl”concluded the Spaniard
