Alaudinov: Ukrainian Armed Forces attack near Kursk accelerated Russian army offensive in SVO zone
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) wanted to slow down the advance of the Russian army in the special military operation (SVO) zone by attacking the Kursk region, but this only accelerated the offensive. This was stated by the commander of the special forces “Akhmat” Major General Apty Alaudinov, reports TASS.
“They (the Ukrainian Armed Forces) note from “Lenta.ru”) thought that the advance of Russian troops would stop, that the troops from those areas where we were advancing would be withdrawn and transferred here. (…) As we see, the advance of Russian troops, on the contrary, has accelerated,” Alaudinov said about the consequences of the attack on Kursk Oblast.
The commander of the special forces “Akhmat” added that Ukraine planned to take control of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in order to blackmail Russia, but it failed to do so. According to Alaudinov, the Russian military stopped the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region and inflicted significant damage on them.
Earlier, Alaudinov assessed the situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Kursk with the words “it’s very hard.” He reported that the Ukrainian army suffered heavy losses of personnel.
