Alarmo’s announcement came as a surprise to everyone. An alarm clock from Nintendo with features related to its intellectual properties? Apparently Mario’s house got the product right, given that it sold out in several parts of the world. In particular in the company’s physical store in New York, the only one to physically sell Alarmo in the entire globe.
Online sales are also doing well, with Nintendo reporting receipts a huge number of orders in Japanso much so that they had to be suspended on the My Nintendo Store. To address the stock issue, Nintendo is working on a lottery (in Japan this is quite typical), in which all interested parties can participate. Naturally, production will also increase, given the demand.
It costs 100 euros but…
But here comes the problems, because Alarmo seems to only work well if you are single. Yes, if you are married or if you have any partner who shares the bed with you, even a cat or a fan, the Nintendo alarm clock does not give its best. The company’s official FAQ warns of the problem, explaining how Alarmo’s motion sensors could be deceived by any movement that occurs near the bed, attributing it to the user.
Furthermore Alarmo cannot recognize individual peopleso it could block its activities when someone gets out of bed, making it difficult to use its essential functions, such as the alarm clock. Finally, it must be said that the method of entering letters to connect Alarmo to Wi-Fi is not very convenient, as shown by several people (see the example in the post on X present in the news).
The bottom line is that the Alarmo does its duty with singles or particularly spacious beds. In case of problems you are advised to switch to Button Modewhich gives the user complete manual control of the alarm.
