Alan Wake 2 at 1.3 million copies, is the fastest selling Remedy game ever

Remedy Entertainment has revealed the sales numbers of Alan Wake 2which reached 1 million copies sold at the end of last year, while at the beginning of February the total amounted to 1.3 million copies. This result places him as the game sold faster in the history of the studio.

To make a comparison, Remedy claims that over 50% more copies were purchased in the space of two months (and even triple considering digital delivery only) compared to what Control did in four months.

Remedy expects excellent sales numbers in the long term

Again citing Control, the adventure starring Jesse Faden has sold a total of 4 million copies and net profits of 100 million euros since 2019, which according to Remedy is a clear example of how a quality game is able to to record excellent numbers in the long term and a similar path is also expected for Alan Wake 2. In this sense, we also know that the game will be supported during 2024 with two paid DLCs that will expand the story.

There are also other projects in Remedy's plans, such as Condor, Control 2 and the remakes of the first two Max Paynewhich according to CEO Tero Virtala's words increased the pace of development after the release of Alan Wake 2.
