Nasser Al Hammadi, Secretary General of the Handball Federation, revealed that Al Wahda team will return to participate in the men’s league championship next season, and said: “Al Wahda Club has decided to participate in the handball league next season, and will not have participation in the rest of the men’s competitions, as it has chosen only the league.” “It will be a return for him to the handball fields, bringing the number to 9 clubs next season.”
Al-Wahda had participated in men’s competitions from the 2018-2019 season until the end of the 2020-2021 season, after which it decided not to participate, starting with the 2021-2022 season, which is the season in which the handball teams were reduced from 11 to 8 clubs after the apology of Al Dhafra and Baniyas as well, in addition to Until the unit participates in the Sunni stages of the game.
Al Hammadi confirmed that the next season will start in the first week of next October with the Emirates Cup, and will continue for a month, after which the league will begin, and Al Jazira and Maliha will participate in the Arab Championship in Kuwait, during the period from 14 to 25 next September, which is the tournament that precedes the start of the local competitions.
He noted that all competitions from last season will continue in the new season without change, and the local Super Cup will be held during the Emirates Cup period, and there are arrangements with the Bahraini Handball Federation regarding the Emirati-Bahraini Super Cup, and the Emirati-Saudi Super Cup will also be held, indicating that the suspension will be stopped, During the Men’s World Cup next January, this period will be dedicated to holding the Federation Cup, while the last tournament of the season will be the President’s Cup.
