“Ittihad” conducted a field tour inside the new food industrial city “SILO FOODS”, affiliated to the National Service Projects Organization of the Egyptian Armed Forces, coinciding with the inauguration of it by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Al-Ittihad saw the integrated work system inside the factory, with attention to the mechanization of all production steps, and the purification of any individual before entering the city’s factories and facilities, which are located in Sadat City within the Menoufia Governorate.
According to officials there, Silo Foods is considered the first and most modern integrated industrial city of the state, which operates in an integrated manner, as it was taken into account in its planning and implementation that the needs for any external component in the project are not met, except for wheat needed to produce flour, which is used as a basic raw material in various products. which Silo Foods works on.
The project management was keen on making the city work almost completely electronically, with the implementation of an internal network that transports flour and wheat after grinding to the various facilities of the food city, with its four factories, which are “biscuit”, “pasta” and “baked” factories, in addition to the presence of a mill For flour, another for wheat storage.
The Silo Foods project also includes a factory that was specifically established to provide the necessary supplies for packaging work, which includes plastic products and others for “cans”, and other packaging requirements, in order to provide the various needs for packaging of various types through the factory. The project officials said: “We do not need anything from his land other than wheat.”
Al-Ittihad correspondent saw inside the Food Industrial City a large number of wheat silos, which the project officials said, which includes 15 silos designed according to the latest international systems and standards, containing quantities sufficient for the city for a period of 3 full months, describing the project as an “integrated strategic project to increase The percentage of local sufficiency in the products of this factory, as it is one of the important food security projects for the Egyptian state.
Yesterday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that the time has come to increase the price of a loaf of subsidized bread, stressing that the increase would not be large.
He added during the opening of the Silo Foods Industrial City in Sadat City in Menoufia Governorate (northern Egypt), that he was not talking about a significant increase in the price, but that the price increase “has become a necessity,” indicating that he will bear the responsibility from his position as head of state.
Al-Sisi stressed that the price will not rise significantly, pointing out that “it is unreasonable for the price of 20 loaves to be the price of a cigarette,” explaining that school meals will cost 8 billion pounds per year, stressing that the price of bread is fixed over a period of 20 or 30 years, and that this It has to be changed.
