His Excellency Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bawardi, Minister of State for Defense Affairs, received at the Ministry of Defense yesterday morning, His Excellency Hulusi Akar, Minister of Defense of Turkey, and his accompanying delegation, who is on an official visit to the country.
The reception was attended by Lieutenant-General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Matar Salem Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense, and a number of senior officers of the Ministry.
During the meeting, His Excellency the Minister of State for Defense Affairs welcomed His Excellency Hulusi Akar, stressing the importance of the historical relations between the two friendly countries, which date back decades, especially since the beginnings of joint cooperation in 1984. During the meeting, a number of areas of strengthening bilateral cooperation were discussed. Between the two friendly countries, especially in the military and defense field, and ways to support and develop them, in a way that enhances the common interests of the security and stability of the region.
Exchange of experiences
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the development of cooperation in the fields of military training and defense industries, and the exchange of experiences to achieve the national interests of the two friendly countries. The meeting concluded with the organization of a field visit by His Excellency Hulusi Akar, Minister of Defense of Turkey, and the accompanying delegation, to a number of promising Emirati companies in this vital sector, to see the latest developments and technologies reached by the UAE military industries and products.
