Until in the twentieth edition of the book Relats Solidaris de l’Esport they chose a godmother. And it was not any choice. But the one chosen to be the visible face this year is Aitana Bonmatí, the best soccer player.
The current Golden Ball is the new image of this project that started in 2005 a group of Catalan sports journalists. “I am very happy that they have thought of me. I am proud to be the first woman. But I would like this not to stop here because we also have much to say,” asked the Barcelona footballer.
This year the beneficiary entity is the sportive Association Ramassà, a soccer club that fights discrimination and racism. “I have a long link with the AE Ramassà,” Bonmatí explained. “They work a lot with women who come from war countries and refugees and use sport as a tool for inclusion. You never know what will bring you the new place where you get. We call us heroines but you exceed situations that many could not,” he dedicated to the Ramassà players.
The midfielder wished that another female Barça Champions League was explained among the stories next year. “I would like that next year the fourth Champions appeared. We have a good outcome of the first leg but the return is missing to be in the Lisbon final,” he confessed after 4-1 of the first leg.
Barça aspires to repeat the perfect year winning the four possible titles: Super Cup (already won), Cup, League and Champions. “I see the team very well and the other day we show it against Chelsea.
