The airline explained why the pilot of the regional flight refused to take on board an 8-year-old girl who was flying for an emergency operation. The press service of Polar Airlines told RIA Newsthat the pilot-in-command of the aircraft followed the established rules of transportation, according to which a minor patient cannot fly unaccompanied by a medical worker and in the absence of an air ticket for the flight.
“The flight is subsidized, that is, it is carried out at the request of the administration of the nasleg or district. At the same time, the application indicates the approximate number of passengers, ”the press service noted and explained that they are talking about the rules of aviation security. If the maximum load of the aircraft is exceeded, the crew has the right to refuse additional cargo and seats.
Earlier in social networks, information was spread that in the village of Tomtor, Yakutia, the pilot did not want to take on board a girl who received an open fracture of her arm on the playground and needed an urgent operation.
Flights to Yakutsk are carried out once a week, on the day of the incident there was just a plane leaving for which there were no tickets. The aircraft commander refused to take the girl, as a result she had to get to her destination by car for a day.
It is reported that the Yakut transport prosecutor’s office has begun verification of the incident.
