After about two years of real AI hype, disillusionment begins to set in. Both decision-makers and the audience are noticing that many of the promised AI products are not coming to market so quickly. The author will go further at this point and put forward the thesis that almost none of the lofty announcements will ever be implemented. In the next few years we will continue to hear about numerous successful use cases and all kinds of AI promises of salvation, such as that AI could help win the fight against cancer, defeat world hunger or reduce the number of… Drastically reduce traffic fatalities. But none of these promises are likely to come true. But despite the many shortcomings of artificial intelligence, it is riskier than ever because AI will have a major impact on everyone’s lives.
