Los Mochis, Sinaloa.- As part of the commemoration of the International LGBTIQ+ Pride Day the building was illuminated in colors Municipal Palace of Ahomean event that was headed by Mayor Gerardo Octavio Vargas Landeros, who said that he has an inclusive government.
In the place, the municipal president reiterated that the LGBTIQ+ community has the full support of the municipal authorities, and highlighted the presence of the deputy Ana Ayala Leyva, as well as the former mayor of Ahome, Juan Fierro Gaxiola, who, he said, also support them.
“For us it is an honor that you feel that we are allies, welcome diversity to the municipality of Ahome, welcome to this administration that is totally inclusive, we are with respect for society.”
The mayor took the opportunity to exhort the population to be loving, since everyday life causes these small details to be lost, for which he also invited citizens to have diversity and respect every day.
The event was also attended by members of the World Network of Young Politicians, and the Municipal Director, Rafael Gutiérrez Cortez, who spoke about the history of sexual diversity in Mexico, in addition to thanking the municipal president of Ahome, emphasizing that it is people like him who are needed to govern, since Gerardo Vargas Landeros recognizes that society is constantly changing.
For her part, Ana Esparza, President of Ahome Diverso, said she was happy that young people are expressing themselves, and stressed that this sector is the present of society and they are the ones who are defending the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community.
There was also the participation of youngsters Estrella Hubbard and Juan Manuel Arredondo, who had artistic presentations.
