The Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen issued a decision yesterday appointing Foreign Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak as the new Prime Minister, succeeding Maeen Abdul Malik, who was appointed as an advisor to the Presidential Council.
Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, issued Resolution No. 56 of 2024, the first article of which appointed Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak as Prime Minister of Yemen.
The second article of the decision stipulated that members of the Yemeni government would continue to perform their duties in accordance with their appointment decisions.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed, was appointed as an advisor to the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, pursuant to Resolution No. 57 of 2024. Ahmed bin Mubarak is the Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs, enjoys extensive international relations, and has a unique diplomatic experience.
