Free violence against three disabled people, the Prosecutor of Agrigento has sentenced four Licatesi
The derisions, the gratuitous violence to the detriment of three disabled up to the complaints, the lightning investigation and the detentions ordered by the Prosecutor’s Office: nine months later four defendants were sentenced as many sentences ranging from 7 to 9 years in prison. For the first time, the crime of torture.
The judge of the preliminary hearing of the court of Agrigento, Francesco Provenzano, condemned the Licatesi Antonio Casaccio, 27 years (9 years of imprisonment); Gianluca Sortino, 24 years (7 years), Angelo Marco Sortino, 37 years (7 years) e Jason Lauria, 26 years old (8 years old). The investigating judge Alessandra Vella, last January, at the request of the prosecutor Luigi Patronaggio and the prosecutor Gianluca Caputo, had validated the arrest of the two Sortino and Casaccio. The fourth accused had not been reached by any measure.
The disabled, according to what was found in the trial, were allegedly beaten, kidnapped and humiliated in their homes or on the street. In one circumstance one of the three invalid civilians was reportedly beaten with a stick, tied with duct tape and abandoned on the street until a passing woman released him. In others they would be humiliated with face paint and a substance that had caused hair loss.
Or, again, tied to a chair with a bucket on your head and beaten. Kicks, punches, sticks and death threats. All this is always filmed with smartphones and broadcast online, on social networks with titles of derision. A horror story, which went on for many days, with three victims chosen at random, only because they were disabled. Their “rebellion”, after the umpteenth beatings, triggered the investigation, which the Prosecutor of Agrigento delegated to the Carabinieri of Licata.
During the investigation the father of one of the three victims also told the military about the psychological damage suffered by his son. The victims confirmed the allegations on the occasion of the evidentiary incident where one of the victims also reported that they were pressured to retract.
