After losing their daughter in a tragic accident, two parents fight to inform all people about the dangers for children
Losing a child represents one of the most important pains a person can experience. When this happens, the causes can be varied, from illness to fatal accidents or carelessness on the part of the parent. A couple of American parents have been fighting for years to inform other parents and warn them about little known dangersbut very risky, for children.
Keri Volmert And Larry Joyce they are two parents who have been fighting for almost 8 years to inform all people about a very delicate topic. In February of 2016 Keri and Larry lost theirs girl just a year and a half. The little girl’s death was caused by a malfunction at home. Since that fateful day, when their lives changed dramatically, Larry and Keri want to increase their awareness of all parents.
The terrible accident
The evening of February 27, 2016 Keri brings Sammiethe 1 and a half year old daughter, in her room to go to sleep. The mother says that the little girl cried for a few minutes before falling deeply asleep. At that point she, her husband Larry and Sammie’s older brother, who was 3 years old at the time, went into the other room to sleep. The eldest son was sleeping with his parents at that time due to some night terrors. The room of Keri and Larry is located on the ground floor while the children’s room is upstairs. The next morning Larry goes upstairs to check on the little girl Sammie but he finds her lifeless in her bed. The parents immediately call for help but the medical personnel are unable to resuscitate the little girl.

According to what has been reconstructed, the little girl died in her sleep. The reason, according to doctors, is linked tohyperthermia. This condition was caused by a room temperature too high. Sammie’s parents had set the thermostat of the children’s room a 22°C but, due to a malfunction, the temperature in the bedroom reached i 40°C. Since that damned day, Sammie’s parents have not found peace and do not want to forget this tragic event. Through their Facebook page, created to remember Sammie, they educate and alert parents about the differences domestic dangers for children.
Although many parents inform themselves and consult manuals, accidents can happen. Larry and Keri want to prevent as many accidents possible using information.
