The father of fast bowler Mohammad Siraj, who joined the team for the tour of Australia for more than two months, died on Friday. Siraj’s father Mohammad Gaus was 53 years old and was suffering from lung disease. In order to make Siraj a cricketer, his father made many sacrifices in his life and hard work made Siraj reach this point. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has reported that Siraj was given the option of returning to India to be with the bereaved family after the father’s demise but decided to stay in Australia due to ‘national duty’. His decision has been highly praised by cricket fans including Sourav Ganguly.
