Ridley Scott’s Gladiator has been defined by most as one of the most important historical blockbusters in the history of cinema and, after over 20 years of waiting, we will finally have the opportunity to set our eyes on its official sequel, which features Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal in the cast.
The director of Napoleon and the two chapters of Gladiator, in reality, seems not to want to waste time even now that his next work is about to be presented to the general public and, in fact, he claims to already have clear ideas about the future of the franchise.
As reported in an interview with Total FilmRidley Scott released a series of statements which will delight fans of the series: let’s read together.
“At the moment I wrote just 8 pages of the Gladiator 3 scriptbut it seems like a good starting point, right now. I don’t think we’ll return to the arena: for this film it was necessary, but for the future I already have something different in mind.”
Gladiator 2, the long-awaited second chapter of the series that began over 20 years ago with the unforgettable performance of Russel Crowe in the role of Maximus Decimus Meridius (which allowed him to win an Oscar in 2001), the next one is coming to theaters worldwide November 14th.
