Annalena Baerbock (Greens) is coming under increasing pressure – also in her own ranks. After many mistakes, speculation continues about a personnel rogue.
Berlin – After the Plagiarism allegations against Chancellor candidate Annalena Baerbock* the green party leadership is resisting a heated personnel debate. Federal managing director Michael Kellner had to dispel rumors about an exchange of the top candidate. “We are going as a team, as a green team, together in this election campaign with Annalena Baerbock at the top,” said Kellner on Monday. Before that, criticism of the 40-year-olds’ election campaign errors had become more and more loud.
Baerbock was nominated as a candidate for chancellor by the federal executive committee in April and was elected by a party congress. Most recently, however, the Greens had mostly negative headlines, among other things because Baerbock was responsible for their book “Jetzt. How we change the country ”is said to have copied some passages. Because the popularity ratings are falling rapidly, rumors of a change to co-party leader Robert Habeck had emerged.
