Abi Ahmed indicated in a statement that the army completed the first phase of the war by liberating most of the cities that were under the control of the Tigray Liberation Front in the Amhara region.
He added that his country’s desire has always been peace and love and that Ethiopia remains united and prosperous, but by refusing the peace offer that was repeatedly offered to the Tigray Liberation Front, the country was forced to enter the war.
He explained that Ethiopia needs to rebuild what the Tigray Liberation Front destroyed, return the displaced, accelerate development and promote good governance faster than ever before.
Earlier, state media reported that the Ethiopian Prime Minister directed to manage the war effort from the front lines, and that Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen would take over the day-to-day affairs of the government in his absence.
A report published on the “Fana” news website said that government spokesman Legisi Tolo provided, in a press conference, details of the transfer of responsibilities for some daily chores.
