Awad was born in the city of Irbid, northern Jordan in 1942, and was known for his distinction in roles of firmness and severity.
The late Jordanian artist obtained a film directing certificate from Cairo University, and joined the Jordanian TV when it opened in 1968, according to the website of the Jordanian Ministry of Culture.
The first play he directed was called “The Absent.” This was the first artistic work in terms of acting, directing and writing, and Jordanian media outlets estimate his works with more than 200 TV series and 7 films presented over more than 40 years.
And the artist Jamil Awad is married to the Jordanian actress Juliet Awad, who shared many of his works with him.
Among the most prominent series in which Jamil Awwad participated are: Haret Abu Awad, Al-Mutatrid, Wajh Al-Zaman, Something from the Past, Nimr Bin Adwan, and Palestinian Alienation.
The last work was the series “The Winds of Poison”, which was produced in 2020.
