The party and parliamentary group leader of the AfD, Tino Chrupalla, has been infected with the corona virus.
Berlin – The 46-year-old had tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently in quarantine at home, the AfD parliamentary group announced on Friday. He could therefore not take part in the constituent session of the new Bundestag next Tuesday. The context in which Chrupalla was infected was not disclosed.
He had only mild symptoms, it was said in party circles. Chrupalla had always kept the question of whether he had been vaccinated against the corona virus open and emphasized that vaccination was a private matter. The co-parliamentary group leader Alice Weidel, on the other hand, had revealed in the federal election campaign that she had not been vaccinated.
