The rains continue to settle in areas of the Mediterranean, where this Thursday the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) maintains the yellow alert for rainfall in Aragon and Catalonia, while in the Balearic Islands and the Valencian Community the alert is orange for accumulations of up to 40 liters in one hour.
In the Valencian Community, the orange alert (significant risk) has been activated on the northern coast of the province of Alicante due to rain – with probable storms – that will leave 40 liters in one hour; On the southern coast of Valencia, rainfall will leave 20 liters in one hour.
In the Balearic Islands there is an orange warning on the island of Menorca due to accumulations of 40 liters in one hour, while in Mallorca the area most affected by rainfall will be the Tramontana mountain range and the southern and northern areas and east of Mallorca, where 25-liters are expected. 30 liters in one hour or 80 liters in 12 hours.
In Catalonia, the yellow warning in the province of Girona will begin at 8:00 p.m. this Thursday due to rain that will accumulate 20 liters per square meter in one hour; AEMET warns that in the Pyrenees it will affect its easternmost part, which borders the pre-coastal and the Empordà.
The community of Aragón only maintains the yellow warning in the Pyrenees for rains of up to 15 liters in one hour, with probable storms.
In Andalusia, the province of Cádiz has a yellow alert for rough seas with easterly winds of 50 to 61 km/h (force 7) to the west of the Strait and out to sea south of Trafalgar.
With the orange alert there is a significant meteorological risk, with a certain degree of danger for usual activities, and with the yellow alert there is no meteorological risk for the general population, although there is for some specific activity.
