The United Kingdom Prosecutor’s Office charged this Thursday, May 26, the American actor Kevin Spacey with four crimes of sexual assault against three men, after an investigation by the London Police. The two-time Oscar winner has previously denied allegations against him of sexual misconduct.
Kevin Spacey, one of the most recognized figures in Hollywood, will be prosecuted for four crimes of sexual abuse against three men, in the United Kingdom.
“He has also been charged with causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without their consent. The charges follow a review of evidence collected by the Metropolitan Police in their investigation,” the prosecution said.
The British Prosecutor’s Office accuses him after several years of investigation and review of the evidence gathered by the officers, explained Rosemary Ainslie, head of the Special Crimes Division.
The alleged incidents took place in London between March 2005 and August 2008, and one in the west of England in April 2013. The possible victims are now in their 30s and 40s.
In November 2017, London’s Old Vic theatre, where Spacey was artistic director from 2004 to 2015, said it had received separate complaints from 20 men of inappropriate conduct by Spacey.
The complainants indicated that they came into contact with the artist for matters related to the theater, between 1995 and 2013.
Roberto Cavazos, an actor who worked at the Old Vic, assured that in 2017 he had encounters with the American “that bordered on what could be called harassment.”
Spacey has previously denied the allegations.
The 62-year-old performer, who won the Oscar for best actor in “American Beauty” and best supporting actor in “The Usual Suspects,” has previously denied all allegations of misconduct.
His celebrated career came to an abrupt halt in 2017 when fellow actor Anthony Rapp accused the star of assaulting him at a party in the 1980s when Rapp was a teenager.
Spacey, once one of Hollywood’s most successful stars, was pulled from the popular TV show “House of Cards” and removed from the movie “All the Money in the World” after allegations of sexual conduct came to light. inappropriate
