ACS, the multinational that presides over Florentino Pérez, has signed as a consultant to the former Secretary of State for Transportation, Mobility and Urban Agenda Isabel Pardo de Vera, as the confidential has advanced and confirmed Eldiario.es. Pardo de Vera has not needed permission from the Office of Conflict of Interest because two years have passed since its departure from the Secretary of State. Previously, Pardo de Vera was President of Adif, the public railway infrastructure company.
Pardo de Vera was wrapped in the controversy in December 2023 when he ruled out to preside over the Association of Housing for Rental (ASVAL), according to sources close to Pardo de Vera to Europa Press. The association, led by funds such as Blackstone and Ares, had chosen it as the next president of the Association in replacement of Joan Clos, former mayor of Barcelona, who finished his mandate this December “in a friendly way.”
Asval’s governing board was going to propose the relay to all its associates at the next Board convened for December 20. The appointment was aware of the resolution of the Office of Conflicts of Interest, which should be approved by having held Pardo de Vera a public office, according to knowledgeable sources. Before this appointment, Pardo held the post of Adif president, a company where she entered in 2007 through a public employment offer and after having worked in the private sector of engineering and consulting of projects of rail infrastructure and roads projects.
After more than two and a half years since his appointment, Pardo presented his resignation, together with the then president of Renfe, Isaías Táboas, after the problem that were about the dimensions and design of the nearby trains for Cantabria and Asturias.
After his resignation, Pardo said that “never” has had “attachment to the post” or problem for putting his position “as always available” and said that “trains have never been manufactured that did not fit by tunnels and has never wasted a single euro.”
