Talents to cultivate
With Rally Italia Talent, a format created by Renzo Magnani in 2014 and still unique on the international scene today, ACI Sport and Suzuki want, on the one hand, to fulfill the dream of racing for many fans and, on the other, to allow youngsters and girls to get closer to motorsport and become better drivers.
Many adhesions have arrived this year from the youngest, with 785 Under 18 and 243 Under 16 members, and the budding rally drivers have given the Organization and the judges the greatest satisfaction.
In fact, Caneschi and Fiocco stand out among the navigators, who are respectively just 15 and 16 years old.
Only the future will tell whether the judges of Rally Italia Talent have hit the mark again, with their proverbial clinical eye. So far, those who have triumphed in past editions have in fact often highlighted themselves even in competitions and several former competitors are now leading figures on the Italian and international rally scene.
The essence of driving pleasure
Throughout the entire season, the Suzuki Swift Sport Hybrid received unanimous acclaim from competitors and examiners. The Hamamatsu hot hatch proved to be the ideal vehicle for a contest such as ACI Rally Italia Talent, combining engaging driving with great reliability in all conditions.
With an output of 129 hp and a mass of 1,020 kg in running order, the Swift Sport Hybrid has one of the best weight / power and weight / torque ratios in the segment. This gives it extraordinary reactivity, also thanks to the wide carriageways, the perfect set-up calibration and quick and precise steering. Similar characteristics are appreciated on the track as well as in everyday use. On the road, the Swift Sport Hybrid can also offer a rich and complete standard equipment, which includes, for example, the most advanced ADAS assistance systems, for level 2 autonomous driving.
The “shoulder guard” device, for example, monitors blind spots and prevents lane changes in the presence of other vehicles, while the “vaipure” system monitors the surrounding environment during each reverse gear. Standard are also the systems “occhioallimite “(recognition of road signs),” attentofrena “(automatic emergency braking with recognition of pedestrians and cyclists),” guidadritto “(active maintenance of the lane) and” restasveglio “(monitoring of the strokes of sleep and the distraction of the pilot).
