Acea enters the water service in Sicily. The Territorial Water Assembly of Syracuse has proceeded to award the tender for the selection of the private partner of Aretusacque spa, a mixed company that will be 51% owned by the Municipalities of the territory, to the temporary consortium (RTI) – formed by Acea Molise (100% ACEA) and the company Cogen. The tender has an estimated value of over 1.2 billion and concerns the management of approximately 2,000 km of water networkof approximately 1,300 km of sewerage network, of 166 thousand water users, equal to 390 thousand inhabitants served. The investments foreseen in the tender are 366 million.
“Acea – reads a note from the company – strengthens its leadership in the water sector, expanding its presence in Italy, where it already has over ten million users served: to the management already consolidated in six regions, Sicily is now also added, a reality that requires significant investments in the water sector. The Territorial Water Assembly of Syracuse (ATIS), in fact, with provision no. 2 of 6 September 2024, proceeded to award the tender in favor of the temporary consortium of companies (RTI) – formed by Acea Molise (100% ACEA) and the company Cogen – for the selection of the private partner of Aretusacque spa, a mixed company that will be 51% owned by the Municipalities of the territory. The company – continues the note – will be responsible for the management of the Integrated Water Service (SII) of 19 municipalities in the province of Syracuse, the concession will have a duration of 30 years starting from its start”.
