The explosion occurred when the hikers were preparing food with a gas-powered camping stove in the Karhunjuomalammi day lodge.
The connector hose of the burner suddenly caught fire at the end of the kettle, and the hikers were unable to extinguish the fire. They left the cabin, and after a while a gas cylinder exploded inside the cabin. The explosion split the door of the hut and lifted the roof of the building into the air.
The daycare center is closed due to the accident for the time being.
