The accident was reported on Twitter by the Western Finland Coast Guard.

Director of Maritime Rescue Niklas Guseff says the cause of the accident is not yet known, but no other boats were involved in the sinking situation.

“For an as yet unknown reason, a small outboard motor boat sank,” he says.

Coastguard received information about the accident from a man who had heard cries for help at sea. Marine rescue units and the rescue service and a helicopter from the Border Guard in the area were alerted to the scene.

However, another boat that crashed was rescued.

“A bystander boat managed to save people from water,” Guseff says.

According to him, there is no accurate information on how long people have been in the water, but even more than five minutes. The seawater is currently cold, about four to five degrees.

Those involved in the accident were transported to the beach, where the emergency department checked their condition.

“No one has a life trouble,” Guseff says.
