Due to the accident, highway 26 is completely crossed at Kurvila for about nine kilometers from Taavet in the direction of Hamina. On Saturday before ten in the morning, the rescue service estimates that the road will be crossed for several hours.
The Rescue Department received an alert for the task after half past nine in the morning.
Ojaan upon derailment, large holes appeared in the trailer across the tank and biodiesel spilled into the terrain. After a morning, the rescue service said the leaks had been stopped. The amount of fuel spilled into the soil is not yet known.
Rescue work continues at the scene of the accident.
There were no injuries in the accident. According to the rescue service, there is no danger of accident for nearby residents and other road users.
