Tomorrow, the capital, Abu Dhabi, will celebrate the activities of the eighth International Day of Yoga at Zayed Cricket Stadium, under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence. “Yoga for Humanity”.
The event program begins at 6:00 pm with the so-called “shamanic breathing”, followed by “extreme stretching” exercises, then various yoga exercises, and finally “savasana” and meditation exercises, to conclude the activities at nine in the evening.
It is expected that the activities of the International Day of Yoga will witness a large participation of different nationalities and ages, especially after the impressive successes achieved by the previous celebrations that were held in Abu Dhabi.
For his part, Arif Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said: We are pleased to cooperate with the Embassy of the Republic of India in Abu Dhabi and to organize the eighth International Day of Yoga in Abu Dhabi, which is keen to enhance the interaction of all segments of society in various sports activities and consolidate its leadership in the forefront of cities in the world.
Al Awani stressed the importance of practicing yoga, which is witnessing great and increasing popularity at the local and international levels, due to its health and psychological benefits, noting that the Zayed Cricket Stadium has completed its preparations to host the participants, in celebration of the International Day of Yoga, which reflects the permanent support and endeavor of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council to provide ambitious sports initiatives and programs.
