The coronation ceremony was attended by Adel Al-Zarouni, Vice-President of the Golf Association and Vice-Chairman of the Tournament Organizing Committee, Abdullah Al-Hashimi, member of the Tournament Organizing Committee, Taymour Hussein, Secretary-General of the Asian Golf Federation, and a number of dignitaries.
In a remarkable result, the Indian player Naltaly Gupta, who resides in the country and was nominated by the Golf Association to participate, achieved thirteenth place, after she finished the competition with a score of 6 under par, benefiting from recording two under par in the last round.
The 17-year-old expressed her happiness at being nominated and participating in the tournament, and said: Participating in a tournament of this magnitude enjoys the presence of the best amateur players in Asia and the Pacific, a wonderful experience, and given me a lot of experience and confidence for the future, and I thank the Golf Federation for its support to the residents of the country.
For her part, Mizuki Hashimoto, ranked 121 in the world, “the second Japanese player to win the title”, after the second edition title in 2019 went to her compatriot Yuka Yasuda, she was happy to win the most important title in her career, and said: I am proud of the achievement she achieved despite the difficulty of the competition with the presence of the elite players of Asia. And the Pacific, especially on the last day when I managed to stay focused and avoid costly mistakes, and wait until the last pits to score.
She added: With the beginning of the tournament, I did not think about winning and achieving my dream of joining the list of crowned players, and taking my career to higher levels, especially since winning the Abu Dhabi Championship opens the door for me to participate and qualify in major world championships in 2022, the size of the AIG Open Championship in Britain, and “Amundia Evian”, one of the five major championships for women’s golf in the world, in addition to obtaining an invitation card to participate in the “Augusta National Amateur Championship” that takes place annually in the United States of America.
