Abu Dhabi Airports, the company responsible for managing and operating the five commercial airports in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, announced the appointment of Elena Sorlini as Managing Director and CEO of the company. Sorlini will move to this role permanently after working in an interim capacity since June 2023.
Since joining Abu Dhabi Airports, Elena has supervised the successful opening of the new Passenger Terminal A at Abu Dhabi International Airport, which is among the largest airport buildings in the world, as it has the capacity to host 45 million passengers annually and accommodate 79 aircraft at any time, which enhances the contribution of The aviation sector in the diversified economy of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
In addition, it played an important role in maintaining the increase in passenger traffic, which continues to witness annual growth, as well as attracting new airlines and routes to Abu Dhabi, including the French national carrier Air France.

Sorlini has more than 20 years of experience in the aviation sector. Before joining Abu Dhabi Airports, she held several senior management positions, including Executive Director of the Transport and Logistics Portfolio at “The Holding” (ADQ), and Vice President of Group Corporate Strategy at the Oman Aviation Group.
