Abortion, Madrid attacks: “Rome undermines the right recognized by law”. Meloni: “We don't accept lessons”

Clash between Rome and Madrid on the issue of abortion. This time there are two women who have different positions: the Spanish Minister for Equality Ana Redondo and the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. It all started from a post on

Redondo, in sharing the news, commented: «Allowing organized harassment against women who want to terminate their pregnancies means undermining a right recognized by law». Then the political attack: «It is the strategy of the ultra-right: intimidation to cancel rights, to stop equality between women and men».

The response from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was not long in coming: «Several times I have listened to foreign ministers speaking about internal Italian issues without knowing the facts. Normally when you are ignorant on a topic one must at least have the good manners not to give lessons» he said, before going to the reception of King Philippe of the Belgians in Brussels.
